A successful start in your hospitality and catering career

Are you interested in a vocational apprenticeship in hospitality? Then it’s time to get started – apply to a hotel or restaurant today to arrange a few trial days (work experience taster courses) and secure your apprenticeship placement.

Many hotels and restaurants only take on personnel after successful completion of a few trial days. These enable you and the business to get to know each other. Take the opportunity to show the business that you are motivated and are looking forward to an apprenticeship in hospitality. In the work experience taster courses and apprenticeship exchange you will find businesses offering apprenticeships. This is how it works:

  • Select hotels and restaurants where you would like to do an apprenticeship.
  • Contact these businesses (apply online, drop in, make a call or write an e-mail). Don’t forget to mention that you are interested in an apprenticeship and that you would therefore like to do a few trial days. We recommend a trial period of three days. In that way you will have enough time to get to know the hotel or restaurant and the business itself has enough time to see how motivated and proficient you are.
  • Request a work experience log and assessment form, take it with you and fill it out. Work experience certificates look good when you apply for an apprenticeship place later on.
  • On successful completion of the work experience trial days, you can apply for the apprenticeship place.
