Established in 1882, HotellerieSuisse - Swiss Hotel Association (SHA), is the world's oldest industry body and the centre of excellence for the Swiss hotel industry. As the non-profit umbrella association of the hospitality industry, SHA represents the interests of its members and plays a major role in the development and organisation of education in the hospitality sector. The SHA sets a focus on education programmes which are formally recognised by the Swiss Confederation.
Education Partners Switzerland
SHA is engaged on different education levels, from vocational training over higher professional education to academic study programmes. In 1893, the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), and in 1986, the Hotelfachschule Thun (HFT) were founded by SHA. Furthermore, SHA is a shareholder of the Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality (SSTH) in Passugg. With its well-established and recognised partner schools, the SHA is actively engaged in the education system of the hospitality industry in Switzerland.
