Training in the hospitality and catering industry gives you the perfect start to a hotel career. Learning the basic skills provides an important foundation for further training in the sector. The emphasis is on practical relevance – what you learn in school can easily be put into practice in hotels and restaurants straightaway.

  • Swiss federal VET diplomas (EFZ)

    The hospitality and catering sector offers you five different federal VET diplomas. Find the right vocational apprenticeship for you below:


  • Vocational baccalaureate

    A vocational baccalaureate can be acquired either during or after completing a federal VET diploma. The vocational baccalaureate grants you direct entry to a university of applied sciences:


  • School hotels

    The hotelleriesuisse school hotels - ISO certified training by the industry, for the industry:

  • Business school for hospitality and tourism (HHS)

    The HHS gives you the opportunity of obtaining your business diploma by alternating one year of full-time schooling with a one year internship and then again one year of full-time schooling:

  • Federal VET certificate (EBA)

    The two-year vocational apprenticeship enables a simplified entry into the sector. The certificate will grant you certain exemptions if you choose to study for the federal VET diploma, which means you can complete the diploma in a shorter space of time:
